A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Monday evening 38 miles from Joshua Tree, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 7:06 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 1.2 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 39 miles from Twentynine Palms.
In the last 10 days, there have been three earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
