Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near San Pedro, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Sunday evening five miles from San Pedro, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 7:50 p.m. PDT at a depth of 3.1 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was six miles from Rancho Palos Verdes, nine miles from Lomita and 10 miles from Long Beach.

In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
