2 dead, 1 injured in Torrance collision; PCH closed in both directions
Two people died and another was injured in a car collision in Torrance on Tuesday that halted traffic in both directions on Pacific Coast Highway, authorities said.
Around 9 p.m., between Madison Street and Zamperini Way, two cars collided, possibly head-on, said Torrance Police Department spokesman Sgt. Paul Kranke.
A man and woman in one vehicle died at the scene. The driver of a second vehicle was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition, Kranke said.
The accident occurred on a stretch of PCH next to Zamperini Field Airport.
Investigators are examining the scene to determine the cause of the accident, Kranke said.
