Alhambra police shoot suspect in police department lobby

Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said they are responding to reports of an officer-involved shooting inside the Alhambra police station.

The shooting occurred at 7:30 a.m. in the police lobby. The Alhambra Fire Department said no one was transported from the scene.

No officers were injured in the shooting, but one unidentified suspect was shot, Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Parker said.

KTLA News is reporting that one person has been killed, but Parker said he could not yet confirm that.

It was unclear what led to the shooting.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will investigate the shooting. Several streets in the area are blocked.
