A Baldwin Park father was arrested Thursday on suspicion of killing his 21-month-old son, authorities said.
David Vazquez, 32, was booked at the Baldwin Park Police Department on suspicion of murder and was being held in lieu of $1 million.
Vazquez’s son, Joshua, was rushed from the family home in the 3700 block of Downing Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police had considered the toddler’s death suspicious. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
Since January 2007, at least 23 homicides have been reported in Baldwin Park, according to The Times Homicide Report.
