No suspect or vehicle description was immediately available, Lin said. The victim’s husband and another family member were detained for questioning Wednesday, he said, adding that the husband was “not communicative at first.”

As of 8 p.m. Wednesday, Lin said no arrests had been made and the shooting did not appear to be gang-related.  The LAPD’s criminal gang/homicide division is investigating the case.

According to The Times' Homicide Report, there have been 302 homicides within a two-mile radius of the shooting since Jan. 1, 2007.
