Sunday's inaugural festivities at Los Angeles City Hall aren’t just about Mayor-elect
The event marks the most dramatic transformation of the city's political leadership since 2001, with nine of the city's 18 elected offices changing hands. A total of 11 politicians, including Garcetti, will be sworn in during the event, which will be held on the Spring Street side of City Hall, followed by a party at Grand Park.

In addition, six new members are joining the City Council: former Assemblyman Gil Cedillo on the Eastside; Assemblyman Bob Blumenfield in the West Valley; former Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes in the east Valley; state Sen. Curren Price in South Los Angeles; and council aides Mike Bonin on the Westside and Mitch O'Farrell in an Echo Park-to-Hollywood district.
The changeover is due in large part to term limits, both in Los Angeles and in the Legislature.
