A 21-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday for killing two men in their Panorama City apartment two years ago, authorities said.

Edwin Lugo was sentenced to two consecutive terms of life in prison without the possibility of parole and an additional 50 years to life, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Last month, Lugo was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, as well as using a firearm in the killings. In June 2012, he fatally shot 35-year-old Mario Martinez and 26-year-old Jaime Polino. Their bodies were found inside an apartment on Brimfield Avenue, each with a single gunshot wound to the head.
