A 32-year-old woman and two young children she was with were seriously hurt Monday after a car plowed into a bus stop near USC in University Village, police said.

The driver, who has not been identified, plowed into the woman and two children -- ages 1 and 3 -- while they were at the bus stop at the northwest corner of Vermont Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard at 1:05 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

The family was taken to an area hospital, where the woman and 1-year-old girl suffered critical injuries. The eldest child was in serious condition, Humphrey said.
