L.A. weather: Expect cooler temperatures, light rain by Wednesday
The storm system moving into the Los Angeles region is expected to produce only light rain by midweek, forecasters say.
There is a 20% chance of rain by early Wednesday morning, which increases to around 50% later in the day, with winds expected to be between 15 and 25 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
The rain, however, is expected to be light, “just enough so we can play bumper tag on the freeway, moving around the dust on our car,” said Bill Patzert, a climatologist for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Canada Flintridge.
L.A.’s rainy season, which runs from December through March, “is pretty much done,” he added.
Still, even if it’s just a quarter of an inch, “every bit helps,” said David Sweet, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
The rain should clear out by Thursday, with the sun peeking through clouds Friday and through the weekend.
In the meantime, the forecast calls for mostly sunny weather Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the mid-60s through mid-70s.
