Woman stabbed to death in apartment had been shot at last month

Share

Michelle Miers escaped with her life last month when she dodged two bullets allegedly fired by her boyfriend. But late Monday she called San Bernardino police to report that this time she had been shot.

The 26-year-old mother of two maintained an open line with dispatchers on her cellphone as officers tried to track her location. When they arrived her apartment, they found Miers covered in blood.

It turned out she hadn’t been shot but instead had been stabbed multiple times in the upper torso, San Bernardino police said. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police are seeking leads into her death. The boyfriend who allegedly shot at Miers has been in custody since his arrest last month.

Miers’ two children, whose ages weren’t immediately available, have not lived at the apartment since the June shooting, staying instead with their father and grandmother, police said.

San Bernardino police are asking anyone with information about Miers’ death to call (909) 384-5738.
