A sex offender who was released from prison after serving 15 years was sent back for 12 more years Wednesday after he was caught following and filming young girls inside retail stores.

Yale Yurman, 71, was sentenced after pleading no contest in July to annoying a child under age 18 with a prior conviction for a sex crime.

Yurman was arrested after Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies from Santa Clarita searched his home last year based on a tip from Target loss prevention officers.

Authorities say Yurman followed girls as young as 6 in Target, Wal-Mart and a church and took pictures of their legs and backsides for sexual gratification.

Yurman’s criminal history includes a 1987 conviction for forcing himself upon a child under 14 years old, according to the district attorney’s office. He was convicted of performing lewd and lascivious acts on a child under age 14 by force or fear and oral copulation of a child under 14, the district attorney’s office said. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison and served 15.
