A man who was stabbed multiple times in the parking lot of a Fountain Valley supermarket Saturday night is in critical condition following emergency surgery, police said.

The suspect, a 17-year-old who is on probation, was booked into Orange County Juvenile Hall on attempted carjacking and attempted murder charges, police said.

The incident occurred about 8:55 p.m. as the victim was walking to his car at the Stater Brothers on Warner Avenue, police said.
