Stowaway banned from LAX is arrested again after returning to airport
Marilyn Hartman, who was ordered to serve 24 months’ probation after pleading no contest to stowing away on an airplane, has again been arrested at LAX.
A woman who was banned from Los Angeles International Airport after stowing away on a Southwest Airlines flight from San Jose earlier in the week was arrested at the airport again Thursday, authorities said.
Marilyn Hartman, 62, was arrested Thursday morning and transferred to the LAPD’s Pacific Division, an airport police officer told The Times.
Hartman made headlines earlier this week when it was discovered that she had somehow bypassed two boarding pass checkpoints at Mineta San Jose International Airport and boarded a Southwest flight to L.A.
Hartman was found out after she deboarded the plane at LAX and arrested for trespassing. On Wednesday she pleaded no contest and promised to not return to the airport without a ticket. She said what she did was “stupid” and that she planned to take a bus back to the Bay Area.
But police said they found her at LAX’s Terminal 7 about 11:15 a.m. Thursday.
It was unclear what charges Hartman could face, but officials said they would offer more details later in the day.
Hartman is already banned from San Francisco International Airport after allegedly attempting to board planes there multiple times without a ticket.
