Police Wednesday were searching for two armed men who emptied the cash register at Rigo’s Taco restaurant in Pacoima.

The men entered the store, located at 10750 Glenoaks Blvd., and approached the cashier around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, said Los Angeles Police Officer Tony Im.

As they were placing an order, one pulled out a handgun and told the cashier to open the cash register. The cashier complied, and the robbers took the money and fled on foot.

There are no suspects in custody. No one was injured in the incident, authorities said.

The restaurant was open for business as usual the next day.

Sergao Mecio, who works at the restaurant but was not present during the robbery, said that four employees, two men and two women, were working the closing shift when the suspects entered.

“I didn’t know that happened, but I came in the morning and saw the news,” Mecio said.
