Sylmar house fire leaves two teenagers in grave condition
Two teenagers are in grave condition following a fire that broke out in a one-story home in Sylmar on Saturday, authorities said.
The blaze began at about 6:50 p.m. in the 13700 block of Sproule Avenue and more than 40 firefighters rushed to the scene, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Katherine Main.
Main said the firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in 17 minutes but not before a 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old male were seriously injured. The two were taken to a hospital in grave condition, Main said.
A 21-year-old man in the home was taken the hospital in serious condition and a fourth man, believed to be 20, suffered minor injuries, she said.
Main said it was not immediately clear what caused the fire but that an investigation was ongoing.
