Two runways reopen after Asiana jet crash in San Francisco
Two of four runways have reopened at San Francisco International Airport following an 11:30 a.m. Asiana jetliner crash that left at least two people dead and dozens more injured.
Through its Twitter account flySFO, airport officials said: “2 runways have reopened. Best to check with your airline for updated arrival and departure info.” The airport’s website is down.
Airport officials also sent a Tweet saying: “Our hearts go out to the people and families affected by today’s events. Thank you to the first responders and local hospitals.”
Travelers from Los Angeles may still be frustrated as 22 departing flights to San Francisco International Airport were canceled through Saturday evening, officials said.
“Passengers are advised to check with their airlines on the status of their flights before coming to LAX,” read an email from LAX spokesperson Nancy Castles.
