From Times Staff Reports

A 52-year-old man who said he had filled his motor home with explosives delayed train service in Orange and disrupted a nearby elementary school as he held off authorities for five hours, police said.

Law enforcement officers used tear gas to force out the Lake Elsinore man about 11:30 a.m. and discovered he was bluffing.

The man was detained and taken to a hospital to evaluate whether he was competent to be charged with felony criminal threats, said sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino.
