Ex-Youth Minister Gets 5 Years in Child-Porn Case
A former Brea youth pastor was sentenced Monday to five years in federal prison and lifelong probation for sending child pornography to an undercover FBI agent, officials said.
Jeff Devore, 54, formerly an assistant minister at Brea Congregational Church, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge J. Spencer Letts after being convicted of sending the CD to an agent involved in a sting operation targeting men suspected of seeking travel to Mexico for sex with boys.
Devore was not accused of participating in the Mexico trip.
He has been in custody since his arrest in February 2005, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Jennifer Corbet, who prosecuted the case.
