Bulls’ Thibodeau wants nothing changed but outcome

And now for something completely different: The Chicago Bulls will not change one iota of their approach entering Game 5 against the Heat, even if a loss at the United Center means the end of their season.

“Not at all,” coach Tom Thibodeau said about 90 minutes before tipoff. “We’ve approached it that way all season. You Begin the season thinking about you how have to prepare at end of season. And the thing that has worked well for us going step by step. Not to get ahead of selves, not to look back, but to concentrate on what’s ahead of us.”

In fact, the only change of even minor significance wouldn’t have been a change at all had Omer Asik not fractured a leg: Brian Scalabrine joins the active roster for Game 5, Thibodeau confirmed before the game.

And if that campaign does come crashing to a halt on Thursday night, Thibodeau said it wasn’t because he saw it coming after Game 4.

“Our team has approached everything the right way,” Thibodeau said. “After the last game, we did what we’ve done all season long. We studied what happened, tried to make our corrections, and we want to be ready for tonight’s game and ready for that first quarter. That’s all we’re thinking about, that first quarter.”
