Northridge stops Irvine

Rob Haynes and Jonathan Heard’s 11-point run in the second half lifted Cal State Northridge to a 67-61 Big West Conference victory over UC Irvine on Thursday night at Northridge.
Northridge (8-7, 2-2 Big West) trailed, 53-51, with 5:33 left before Heard scored six points and Haynes had five during the decisive run.
Haynes had a game-high 16 points off the bench and Heard scored 14. Darren Fells scored 11 for UC Irvine (7-10, 1-2).
