New way to gain team insight: Times launches Dodgers Dugout

Share

There is no such thing as too much Dodgers coverage, right? Fans and bloggers alike are always looking for new ways to garner information and insight on the boys in blue.

And now there’s a innovative way -- and a very convenient one.

The Los Angeles Times has launched Dodgers Dugout, a twice-weekly newsletter that is emailed directly to your inbox.

It’s written by Houston Mitchell, one of my 336 bosses at The Times, so, yes, there is an element of derriere-kissing going on with this post. Smooch, smooch.

But Mitchell is a lifelong follower of the Dodgers and the author of “If These Walls Could Talk, Stories from the Los Angeles Dodgers Dugout, Locker Room and Press Box.” Unlike yours truly, he is an unabashed Dodgers fan, so there is a different perspective.

His newsletter is offered in a series of easy-to-digest, quick-hitting paragraphs that include news, recaps, opinions and trivia. Something like what I provide in the blog, only much, much better (smooch, smooch).

Here’s an example of one of his newsletters.

All that’s required of you is that you sign up, which you can do here. It takes a whole 30 seconds or so. Too easy. And you actually get something in your inbox you want to read.
