Baseball: Dalton Blumenfeld hits his fifth home run in Hamilton win

All-City catcher Dalton Blumenfeld is off to a productive start for Hamilton. He hit his fifth home run on Thursday and finished with five RBI in helping the Yankees defeat Westchester, 9-3.

Hamilton is 13-1 and 4-0 in the Western League.

Roosevelt won an Eastern League game, defeating South Gate, 6-2. Sergio Valenzuela improved to 6-0 with a complee game. Sylmar defeated Arleta, 2-0. Eddie Cervacio threw a one-hitter.

El Camino Real defeated Marshall, 11-1, in a mercy rule game after five innings. Jeremy Polon picked up the win. Colton Snyder and Dylan Hirsch each had two hits. James Terrazas had three RBI.

In the Marine League, San Pedro defeated Banning, 4-3, in eight innings on David Oliviera’s game-winning single.

In the Big VIII League, Corona Centennial defeated Corona Santiago, 8-5, in eight innings. Cody Cox had two hits and two RBI.

In the Montview League, Baldwin Park defeated Gladstone, 3-0, behind Anthony Franco, who threw a four-hit shutout, striking out six and walking none.

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated Gahr, 4-3, on a walk-off single by Colin Brophy. Jordan Myrow had the game-tying RBI.

Temescal Canyon defeated Heritage, 3-0. Dylan Alhanati picked up his fifth win with a complete-game shutout. Devin McKesson had a two-run triple.

Burroughs won its division of a tournament in Arizona, defeated Oregon Lake Oswego, 9-2. Max Haddad had two hits and four RBI. Danny Bustos threw five shutout innings.

New Community Jewish defeated Crossroads, 7-4. Zack Miller threw a complete game.

Village Christian defeated Heritage Christian, 4-0. David Barta struck out seven in five innings.
