Boys’ basketball: City Section releases new playoff divisions

Share

The City Section has revised its playoff divisions in basketball. Division IV is no longer based on enrollment. Top boys’ teams from Division IV in previous years, LACES and View Park Prep, have been moved to Division I.

Other teams getting bumped up to Division I include Grant (from Division II), Hamilton (from Division II) and Gardena (Division II).

Schools can appeal. The Basketball Advisory committee will finalize appeals by Nov. 3.

There will be an Open Division selected for the eight top teams regardless of their division. Every team selected for the Open Division will be guaranteed a state playoff berth.
