North Hollywood won its first City Section title in girls' basketball on Friday night, taking the Division II crown with a 61-44 victory over Venice at Roybal.
The Huskies (18-4) used balanced scoring, opening a nine-point halftime lead and taking control in the third quarter.
"They never give up," Coach Robert Ruffin said of a team loaded with sophomores and juniors.
Giselle Ramirez finished with 14 points, Miya Bleeker had 12 and Aisha Burton 11 and 15 rebounds.
Venice made six three-pointers in the first half but none in the second half. Amy Koshimizu had three threes for Venice.
