Update: Center Anze Kopitar, who missed Sunday’s 3-2 shootout loss at Winnipeg because of an apparent hand or arm injury, didn’t participate in the Kings’ optional skate Monday in Denver. A team spokesman said goaltender Jeff Zatkoff, who pulled himself from Friday’s game at Ottawa because of a groin spasm, skated Monday.

Colorado forward Matt Duchene missed the Avalanche’s 2-0 loss to Boston on Sunday after exhibiting concussion-like symptoms as the result of a hit from Winnipeg’s Jacob Trouba on Friday. Duchene will also miss Tuesday’s game. Colorado forward Jarome Iginla last week passed Wayne Gretzky for 18th place on the career list of NHL games played; Iginla has played 1,488 games
