College basketball: Washington, Texas to play in China
Washington and Texas will open the 2015-16 basketball season in China, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott said Saturday.
Few details of the game were announced, other than it will be played on Nov. 14.
The China market is high on the Pac-12’s agenda. A conference all-star team, coached by Oregon State’s Craig Robinson, will play games in China this summer, two against professional teams.
Coaches will nominate players from their own team for the conference all-star team that will travel to China.
“For Pac-12 schools, who are on the West Coast, the gateway to the Pacific Rim is important,” Scott said.
