Watch a man with no arms throw out first pitch for Royals-Twins game

Tom Willis has pitched in the majority of Major League Baseball ballparks, most recently Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City on Thursday night.

His ceremonial first pitch before the Royals-Minnesota Twins game was his 22nd in the last six years. Each one took place at a different stadium before a major league game.

And each one was thrown with his feet.

Willis was born with no arms so he uses his feet to do many things, including write, drive and throw a baseball. A motivational speaker in his mid-50s, Willis has set out to pitch in every major league stadium.

He first threw a ceremonial pitch at San Diego’s Petco Park before a Padres-Washington Nationals game back in 2008.

“After my pitch for the Padres I met my friends/fan club in the seats,” Willis states on his website. “I told them, ‘That was so much fun - maybe I should throw a pitch at all 30 MLB stadiums. Wouldn’t that be great!?!’ ”

Two years later, he launched his “Pitch for Awareness” tour, which came to Dodger Stadium in 2011. Kansas City was his second stop this year, following Pittsburgh’s PNC Park in June.

Angel Stadium is one of eight locations where Willis has yet to throw out the first pitch.
