Candace Parker leads Sparks past Indiana Fever, 86-78
Candace Parker scored 17 of her season-high 34 points in the third quarter and Los Angeles overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to beat the Indiana Fever, 86-78, on Tuesday night.
The win was a season-high third straight for the Sparks (10-11), who lost Nneka Ogwumike to a mild strain in her right ankle in the second quarter. She finished with two points and two rebounds.
Tamika Catchings did all she could, scoring 25 points in the game for Indiana and 17 in the game’s final 13 minutes. Indiana is now 2-3 with Catchings back in the lineup after she missed the first 17 games of the season with a strained back.
The Fever (10-12), which led 46-36 at halftime, lost a second half lead for the seventh time in their last 10 games.
