CLIPPERS AT LAKERS: Thursday at 7:30 p.m. TV: TNT.

The Lakers’ championship banners and retired jerseys will be on display again when the Staples Center inhabitants meet, about the only reminders of the team’s glory days amid a lost season. The banners and jerseys were covered Jan. 10 during a designated Clippers home game, probably a good thing considering the Lakers’ 123-87 defeat qualified as a hide-your-eyes moment for legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West et al. It was the Clippers’ most lopsided victory over the Lakers and further reflected the shifting dynamics of the rivalry. The Clippers have won five of the last six games in the series and are considered contenders in the Western Conference; the Lakers are vying for the top pick in the draft lottery.
