After sitting out the last two games because of a sore back, Kobe Bryant will be back in the starting lineup for the Lakers on Friday night at Dallas.

Bryant had also missed the team’s shootaround earlier in the day because he wasn’t feeling well, but Lakers Coach Byron Scott said the 37-year-old guard was ready to play against the Mavericks.

“He said he felt ready to go,” Scott said. “He said he felt fine and he wanted to give it a try.

“Obviously I’m going to keep a close eye on him. He got some shots up and he said his back feels loose. So we’ll see how he reacts.”

Bryant got to American Airlines Center about four hours before the game time, practicing shots and working out.

Metta World Peace, who had been starting in place of Bryant, will go back to the bench.
