Watch Arizona’s Rich Rodriguez mock proposed rule with ‘Speed’ parody
In Monday’s Los Angeles Times, we looked at the controversy over the proposed college football rule change that would penalize teams for snapping the ball before 10 seconds have elapsed on the play clock.
Now Arizona Coach Rich Rodriguez, who has been a vocal critic of the proposal, stars in a video parody of the movie “Speed.”
Rodriguez is ready for his closeup in a 2-minute 48-second video that also features footage of Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.
The production value is high and the laughs come quickly as Rodriguez skewers the proposed change.
No word on whether Rodriguez will receive consideration for a best actor award.
Monday was the deadline for coaches to offer feedback about the proposed rule change.
