Boston point guard Rajon Rondo, who has been out for nearly a year since injuring his right knee, hopes to return to the Celtics lineup before the NBA All-Star break, he told reporters Friday.

“It’s just a feeling,” Rondo said after the team’s shoot-around. “I’ll probably just wake up that morning and play.

“It may be this month, next month. It’ll be before the All-Star break.”

Rondo, who began full workouts in December, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a game against the Miami Heat last Jan. 27.

Celtics Coach Brad Stevens said there is no target date and one has not been discussed.

“It’s been, ‘Hey, when you feel like you’re close, then we’ll talk at that point,’ ” Stevens said Friday. “But I’ve never talked to him about that nor have I heard from our organization that there’s been a date that’s been targeted.”

The Celtics’ last game before the All-Star break is Feb. 12 against the San Antonio Spurs in Boston. The All-Star game is Feb. 16 in New Orleans.
