Miami Heat try to avoid another loss to Oklahoma City Thunder

OKLAHOMA CITY -- If only one of the Big Three shows up again, there will quickly be a Big Two for Oklahoma City.

As in a 2-0 series lead in the NBA Finals.

The Miami Heat’s LeBron James did his part in Game 1, posting 30 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals, but that ever-elusive first NBA championship was still four victories away for him.

The Thunder took Game 1, 105-94, holding Dwyane Wade to seven-for-19 shooting and limiting Chris Bosh to 10 points in 34 minutes.

Wade promised a new look Thursday night for Game 2.

“I want to score more points,” he said. “I want to get my team more to give us an opportunity to win the series. I’ll be more aggressive, looking for my opportunities a lot more probably than I have of late. So that will be my change.”

Kevin Durant couldn’t have played much better than he did in Game 1 (36 points, 17 in the fourth quarter).

Russell Westbrook, however, continues to be bothered by a sore left thumb he initially injured two weeks ago. Westbrook did not talk to reporters after the morning shootaround but was expected to play in Game 2 after torching the Heat for 27 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds in the opener.

After Thursday night, the finals shift to Miami for three consecutive games.
