Peyton Manning breaks NFL record for passing yardage in a season
Another Sunday, another NFL record for Peyton Manning.
A week after setting the single-season record for passing touchdowns, the Denver quarterback broke Drew Brees’ single-season yardage record of 5,476 yards.
Late in the second quarter of the Broncos game at Oakland, Manning surpassed that mark.
He also threw four touchdown passes in the first half, extending his own record to 55 in a season. New England’s Tom Brady is second on that list with 50, achieved in 2007.
The Broncos, who led at halftime, 31-0, can clinch the AFC’s No. 1 seeding with a victory, locking up home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.
