USC vs. UCLA

When: 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Where: MGM Garden Arena, Las Vegas.

On the air: TV: Pac-12 Networks; Radio: 570, 710.

Update: A year ago, these teams met in a Pac-12 tournament quarterfinal. The situation was similar — only in reverse. UCLA couldn’t afford a loss, or it might have missed the NCAA tournament. USC just wanted to end the season with some dignity. This season, USC (20-11, 9-9 in Pac-12 play) never trailed UCLA (15-16, 6-12) in the conference standings. For the first time since 2011, USC had a player, guard Julian Jacobs, who was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection. For the first time since 2012, UCLA didn’t; guard Isaac Hamilton was selected to the second team. Both teams should be at full strength. UCLA point guard Bryce Alford, who left Saturday’s game against Oregon State after being struck in the jaw, practiced Tuesday and is expected to play.
