Tee Martin is home.

USC’s offensive coordinator, a Mobile, Ala., native, on Wednesday was at Ladd-Peebles Stadium for Senior Bowl practices.

Martin played quarterback at nearby Williamson High — “literally behind the parking lot,” he said — and played at the stadium before moving on to Tennessee, where he led the Volunteers to a national title in 1998. He also played in the Senior Bowl before the 2000 NFL draft.

“It’s a fun time for the city,” Martin said of Senior Bowl week, which brings players, NFL scouts, coaches, some owners and agents to the city. “As a young kid, I would sit in the hotel lobby and look at all the coaches and owners. I always dreamed to be a part of it.”

Martin attended the North team workout with Tyson Helton, USC’s new quarterbacks coach. Former Trojans quarterback Cody Kessler and fullback Soma Vainuku are on the North roster.

The coaches combined the visit with a recruiting trip.

“You really come to support the guys and catch up with friends,” Martin said.
