USC defensive lineman Leonard Williams is projected as the No. 3 pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2015 NFL draft, according to ESPN analyst Mel Kiper’s mock draft.

“He could be the No. 1 player on a lot of teams’ boards,” Kiper said during an ESPN broadcast. “He’s very versatile.”

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Williams last season had 9½ tackles for losses, including seven sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception.

Kiper said the “only” reason Williams would not be selected higher was because teams with the first two picks, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans, need quarterbacks.

Kiper projected Florida State’s Jameis Winston No. 1, Oregon’s Marcus Mariota No. 2.
