In the last two years, the top two recruits at Long Beach Poly High have committed to USC on National Signing Day.

Receiver JuJu Smith announced for the Trojans in 2014 and cornerback Iman Marshall picked USC in 2015.

Cornerback Jack Jones is a top 2016 recruit and said he would commit on signing day to “keep the tradition going” at Poly, but that doesn’t mean he will choose the Trojans.

“We are different people,” Jones said Saturday at B2G’s Elite Camp in Thousand Oaks, when asked if he would follow Smith and Marshall to USC.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Jones released a list of his top five schools in March -- which did not include the Trojans -- but he has since decided to consider all of his options.

“I just want to wait because I don’t want to pick a school too early and end up wanting to go somewhere else,” he said.

Jones has 19 offers. He said he would make five official visits in the fall.
