Top skier -- and pop star -- Tina Maze takes leave from racing

Tina Maze, a two-time Olympic champion and prominent figure in women's skiing, has announced that she will take a year off to ponder her future in the sport. "After 16 long and successful seasons, practicing all disciplines, I feel that my body and my mind need a longer rest than usual," she wrote Thursday on her website. "I will allow myself a one year break before taking any further decision." The 32-year-old won the downhill and giant slalom at the 2014 Sochi Games and also took the overall World cup title in 2013.
