Using data provided by Spotify, we've mapped the top 500 U.S. cities and towns where "Hamilton" was the most listened-to album in the musicals category in the week leading up to the Tony Award nominations. Spotify did not provide play counts. Instead the company provided normalized data that measured other cities against New York, the city in which ‘Hamilton’ was streamed the most. Chicago and Los Angeles came in second and third, respectively.

The 46-track album has dominated sales too, becoming the top-selling Broadway album of 2015 and the second-biggest cast album seller on record (behind "Rent"). "Hamilton" is also the first and only Broadway album to also hit No. 1 on Billboard's rap album chart.

In case you were asleep and "just woke up", the hip-hop musical nabbed 16 nominations — the most ever (the previous record was held by "Billy Elliot" in 2009 and "The Producers" in 2001, which received 15 nominations each.)
