The Lakers defeated Golden State, 113-107, in an exhibition game tonight in Ontario, brushing off a late arrival with their fifth victory in six exhibition games.

The team spent 2 1/2 hours on a charter bus for the 60-mile commute from the Lakers’ training facility in El Segundo. The delay was mainly because of a brush fire near the Pomona Freeway, Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said.

The Lakers, however, jumped out to a 17-4 lead. Kobe Bryant finished with 21 points and Andrew Bynum had 20 points and nine rebounds.

Lamar Odom had 16 points in his first action since missing two games because of a bruised right shin. Pau Gasol (strained right hamstring) and Luke Walton (sore back) did not play.

The game was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and was not delayed to accommodate the team’s late arrival. The Lakers typically arrive 90 minutes before a game, as mandated by the NBA.
