Home Depot Center has got a Jackrabbit problem

Concord De La Salle has a nice-sized lead over Corona Centennial in the third quarter of the state Division I bowl championship game, and we all know the Birmingham fans out there are whetting their lips in anticipation of saying, ‘Told you so!’

But what about Long Beach Poly? I know the Jackrabbits lost to Birmingham, but that hasn’t stopped some members of the ‘Poly Nation’ from showing up at the Home Depot Center, looking for supporters to their already dead cause.

A small group of Poly supporters -- they looked like Poly players and they were wearing Poly jerseys -- were collectively holding up a sign saying ‘WE WANT POLY!’

I tried to talk to them, but as I approached, they ran away from me when they figured they wouldn’t get the attention of Lindsay Soto and FSN Prime Ticket camera crew. Next time I saw them, they were holding their sign from one of the suites on the second level. Whoever these Poly fans are, they know how to catch a game not involving their team in style.
