Boys’ basketball: Tesoro edges Ventura

Senior forward Chris Manresa scored 21 points and senior guard Robbie Picazo added 13 to lead second-seeded Rancho Santa Margarita Tesoro to a 63-57 victory over fifth-seeded Ventura in the Southern Section Division I-A championship game tonight at the Honda Center.

Senior guard Paul Batausa had 11 points and senior guard Kory Kindle added 10 for Ventura (26-5), which lost despite out-rebounding the Titans, 34-24. Ventura shot only 30.9% compared to 53.8% for Tesoro (27-4).
