How Can Dodgers Talk When the Outfield Is a Major League Joke?

Who, besides themselves, are the Dodgers kidding? It takes a lot of arrogance to start the season with four first basemen and one legitimate outfielder, and still talk about contending for the Western Division pennant.

The Dodger outfield is the joke of the major leagues. Ken Landreaux has lost what little talent he once had. He is both offensively and defensively the worst center fielder in the league. Oliver and Marshall are first basemen, pure and simple. Johnstone, Whitfield, Maldonado and Reynolds couldn’t play for any other major league team, except maybe the Mariners. The Dodgers have only one quality outfielder. Naturally, he plays third.

Good pitching isn’t enough. Somebody please wake up Big Al and tell him it’s not 1966. If you can’t find him, look in the cellar.
