Twenty-five employees were evacuated from the TRW integrated circuit plant near La Jolla Friday morning after a chemical fire broke out.
The San Diego Fire Department’s hazardous materials team evacuated the building, which contains stores of highly toxic and flammable chemicals believed to be the cause of the fire. The building is the company’s Large Scale Integration facility .
The fire, which was extinguished within an hour, caused minimal damage, and employees were allowed back in the building late Friday afternoon. No one was injured.
