Theater Plan Advances: A theater-in-the-round slated for downtown Anaheim moved a step closer to reality Tuesday when the city’s Redevelopment Agency approved the preliminary construction drawings. The 47,357-square-foot facility with 2,340 seats and a restaurant will be built on the northwest corner of Broadway and Philadelphia Street by Leo Freedman, who owned the former Melodyland theater, which was later converted to a church.
