Funeral Rites for Jo Ann Miner, Register Food Editor, Scheduled
Funeral services for Jo Ann Miner, food editor of the Orange County Register, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary in Newport Beach.
Mrs. Miner, 47, died Thursday in an Oxnard restaurant while attending a dinner for that city’s Strawberry Festival. An autopsy showed that she inhaled matter ejected from her stomach during attempts to revive her after she had difficulty breathing and collapsed. Authorities believe Mrs. Miner may have a severe allergic reaction to some food.
Mrs. Miner joined the Register in 1976 and was promoted to food editor in 1979.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary, 3500 Pacific View Drive.
