Fifty-two California motorists were killed in automobile accidents over the Memorial Day weekend, contrasted with 51 last year, but the number of drunk-driving arrests fell, the California Highway Patrol said. The CHP arrested 2,418 drivers for investigation of drunkenness this year, compared with 2,749 in 1985.
