‘Rupert’ the Cat Gets 90-Day Reprieve From Eviction

Share

“Prince Rupert,” the cat threatened with eviction from the Angelus Plaza for allegedly violating the senior housing complex’s leash law, has been granted a 90-day reprieve by Municipal Judge James F. Nelson.

The case was continued until Sept. 23, at which time it will be determined whether the cat and its owner, Charlotte Bohnen, 77, have demonstrated compliance with pet policies established by management and the tenants’ association.

Rupert, a stray adopted by Bohnen, has been the focus of a controversy among tenants, one of whom claimed to have been almost tripped by the cat, and another who reported that Rupert “humped his back and spit.”
